Redefining Leadership since 2010

About Us

Epic Bloom Founders: Lavenia Kotobalavu & Grace Fa'avesi.

Sacramento, California

In 2010 we decided that taking action meant creating a safe platform where everyone could share concerns, collectively find resolutions to the issues in schools and even dare to grow into leadership roles in their communities. We named that platform, “Epic Bloom” to declare that our young people are leaders capable of greatness and that we, as parents, support all of their dreams through school and in life. Even the origin of the name, Epic Bloom, came from a teenager. We developed a space that would add value to their young lives, nurture creativity, develop leadership potential, demonstrate the

importance of serving others, which would empower parents, families and the

community toward the same vision.

In 2011 we began working directly with several different high schools including Luther Burbank High School, John F. Kennedy High School, Grant Union High School & Valley High School, facilitating leadership workshops and after school tutoring sessions. In 2014 we were given the opportunity to partner with the Sacramento City Unified School District who supported our efforts as we continued to reach out to our young Pacific Island students, and Bloom Leadership Program (BLP) was formed.

As the climate of our community continued to change, we were called to serve in ways like never before, supporting students and families virtually through the Covid-19 pandemic, partnering with other community organizations who shared the same heart of service, and we created spaces where our voices could be heard.

In 2023 we continue to serve as we build for the future, our very own school, Epic Bloom International Academy of Leadership. Will you dare to be the change you wish to see in your community? Join us as we write the next chapter.
